Alfred Hitchcock (13 de agosto de 1899, Londres, Inglaterra - 29 de abril de 1980, Los Angeles, EUA) foi um cineasta britânico, considerado o mestre dos filmes de suspense. Em 1920, entrou na indústria do cinema como desenhista de títulos para filmes mudos nos Estúdios Islington. Em 1923, encarregou-se da direção do filme Always tell your wife, após uma doença ter sido responsável por afastar o diretor Hugh Croise. Apesar de não ter sido creditado, esse foi o pontapé inicial para sua longa e brilhante carreira no cinema. Realizou seus primeiros trabalhos ainda na sua terra natal, até partir para os Estados Unidos da América e começar sua empreitada em Hollywood. Morreu com 91 anos, devido à complicações renais e consagrou-se com seus filmes de suspense.
