Thomas Samuel Kuhn (Cincinnati, 18 de julho de 1922 — Cambridge, 17 de junho de 1996) foi um físico, historiador e filósofo da ciência estadunidense.
- De alguma forma, a prática da astronomia, física, química ou biologia normalmente falha em evocar as controvérsias sobre os fundamentos que hoje parecem endêmicas entre, digamos, psicólogos ou sociólogos. A tentativa de descobrir a origem dessa diferença me levou a reconhecer o papel na pesquisa científica do que chamei de “paradigmas”. Considero essas realizações científicas universalmente reconhecidas que, por um tempo, fornecem problemas e soluções exemplares para uma comunidade de profissionais.
- - Somehow, the practice of astronomy, physics, chemistry or biology normally fails to evoke the controversies over fundamentals that today seem endemic among, say, psychologists or sociologists.
