Jayme Henrique Chemello (28 de julho de 1932) é um bispo católico, bispo emérito de Pelotas.
- Se deve distinguir o papel da Igreja e a função do governo. A Hierarquia deve tomar as devidas distâncias do governo, para poder ter uma posição crítica em relação a todas as coisas que não são positivas para o povo. Nós não estamos contra ninguém, mas a favor do Evangelho e do povo!

- O trabalho da Comissão Episcopal da Amazônia não é só um trabalho missionário religioso. Nós queremos que a Amazônia seja brasileira, porque também tem aqueles que olham com outros interesses. Isto não quer dizer que a Amazônia seja só para os brasileiros, porque a Amazônia é tão grande que pode ser muito importante para toda humanidade! Nós defendemos uma Amazônia aberta, porém brasileira. Não achamos justo que outros Países a invadam e a queiram para si, com egoísmo.
