Franz Oppenheimer (30 de março de 1864 - 30 de setembro de 1943) foi um professor académico alemão.
«Então, não demorará muito para que o fluxo de imigração para nossa terra cresça de um pequeno fio d'água para um riacho, o riacho caudaloso para um rio, para uma inundação, até que os reservatórios do mal da Europa Oriental sejam esvaziados. Aqui, o começo por si só já é difícil; mais tarde, a obra cresce em gigantescas proporções. Antes que uma geração tenha passado, o último pária na Europa poderá ser transformado em um cidadão livre em sua própria pátria. Nós mesmos, espero, veremos a Terra Prometida como Josué a viu; não teremos que morrer como Moisés, à vista do vale que ele tanto almejava. Todo começo é difícil e até mesmo o primeiro passo significa uma luta. Portanto, meus amigos, lancemos o mais rápido possível a pedra fundamental do gigantesco edifício que brilhou diante dos olhos dos nossos melhores; Que nossas mãos não caiam no colo enquanto sonhamos com uma realização repentina, mas que nos dediquemos e nos limitemos a agarrar aquilo que a natureza concede ao esforço do homem, lancemos o alicerce, plantemos a semente da árvore sob cuja sombra nossos bisnetos um dia nos abençoarão!»
« Then it will not be long at all before the stream of immigration into our land grows from a thin little trickle to a brook, the swollen brook to a river, to a flood, until the reservoirs of evil of Eastern Europe are emptied. Here the beginning alone is difficult, later the work grows to gigantic proportions. Before one generation has passed away the last pariah in Europe can be transformed into a free citizen of his own fatherland.
